Fantasy Flower Cut Prasiolite Quartz & Diamond Pendant in 14 Carat White Gold

This beautiful and unique pendant, made in 14 carat white gold, is set with a sunning fantsy cut flower shape prasiolite (green quartz) measuring 12.3mm at its widest point with round brilliant cut diamond accents.

Care and Cleaning
Prasiolite is the gemological name given to green quartz, sometimes incorrectly called ‘green amethyst’. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and does not occur in any colour other than purple.
 
Prasiolite’s leek green colouration is not found in nature, it is produced by heating violet amethyst or yellowish quartz from Brazil and Arizona to temperatures of around 500 degrees C. 
This heat treatment is stable (permanent) under normal wear but prolonged exposure to sunlight will make the colour fade, so ensure all of your quartz jewellery is stored away from sunlight and remove it before sunbathing. 
 
Like most quartz, prasiolite has a hardness of 7 meaning it may be scratched by some everyday objects and harder gemstones, for this reason care should always be taken when wearing, storing, taking off or putting on your jewellery. 
 
Prasiolite can be sensitive to sudden rises in temperature that can cause fractures within the stone. For this reason prasiolite jewellery should never be steam cleaned but ultrasonic cleaning is usually safe. 
You can clean your quartz jewellery at home using a jewellery and gemstone dip or cloth which can be purchased from us, or with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
